The Shawndra Beauchamp Turner Colorectal Cancer Research Fund
The Shawndra Beauchamp Turner Colorectal Cancer Research Fund provides resources for researchers at The University of Kansas Cancer Center to find innovative ways to fight and beat colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer research at the cancer center is led by Associate Director for Cancer Prevention Dr. Shrikant Anant and by Associate Director for Translational Research Dr. Andy Godwin.
The fund honors the memory of Shawndra Beauchamp Turner, a devoted wife and mother whose life was cut short at age 32 by a rare form of colorectal cancer known as signet ring cell carcinoma. Shawndra’s parents Dr. Gary and Carolyn Beauchamp started the fund in the hopes that research ongoing at The University of Kansas Cancer Center will lead to early detection and ultimately a cure for colorectal cancer.
